Play with one (1) Half-Orc Hydromancer as the entire party, and never learn any more spells. "dood, Snow Ball is da b0mb!" :P

I'm afraid Growler is going to explode before anyone answers that puzzle properly. He's been counting down for a while...

Hate to rain on the parade, but has this been tested with all the strange things people can pull to subvert the game? I particularly wonder what happens if the party tries to use GHWA or OPWA spells to vanish the annoying door/wall. It looks like all that we care about is the map coordinates, regard...

Previous message needs an edit, because the two code snippets look identical to me and there's no setTag anywhere.
But it sounds good. I was over-analyzing the problem, when all that's needed is to prevent normal movement in just one direction.

I'd give Origen the trophy then, because I went for the easy "first stage of meaning" answers. Strange about "of the C", because I've worked for the US Navy for quite a few years now, but never on a base at the shore and haven't been on a ship as part of my job yet. But that's kn...

1. The 3 silver shapes needed in BT1 to get into the room with Mangar.
2. Of the C? Aside from referring to California, I don't know.
3. = IRKM DESMET DAEM, and probably a very ancient (i.e. stinky) herring of the reddish kind.
I'll admit that I consulted the BT1 cluebook text for 2 of those answers.

I coded a one-way wall by putting an event with a teleport in the cell on the far side of the wall-that-supposedly-just-appeared-behind-the-party. Teleport script just sends you to a new part of the map. Unfortunately, this messes up the automap, and complicates map coding. Also need more teleports ...

My list of "best spells for doing damage" should be in the spreadsheet that Growler now has. ARWI is definitely one of my favorites. After some analysis, I suggested a particular route for Elementalists based on the damage-producing spells. Best defense is a good offense...

Wow :D Lots of info there! Growler, you don't end up defining ALL the cells in the map. At least, not usually. Only cells that have at least one wall or door in one of the directions that you're using, or need something besides the default ceiling and floor. For instance, the 10 by 10 "buffer&q...

JB is... :o Well, unless you're the other JB listed, you certainly are the source. Don't be surprised if I post my nitpicky questions about the items_BL2D then. Growler, I can't claim it was original to start with, since I started with the DEC BASIC version. But I eventually ended up with a real-tim...

I haven't confirmed it, but the way the events and scripts are set up, phasing to the part where you get the Cloak and bypassing where you give up the 3 rings does look like it should work. Major congrats to Nangor on finding a new exploit that even works in the demo version! 8) HEY ADMINS! :!: Can ...

Press on, man! They'll catch up eventually. - Your font is actually better than the one used in DW. There's a "text test" in the Cheater's Stronghold that finally proved to be useful, and it's obvious that the DW font has no descenders; characters like "y" don't extend below the ...

My script to display all the pictures in DW is only 499 lines long. Most of them are showPicture or showMessage.
I shudder to think of how complex you could have made something over twice as long.

GRAAAHH! I lost a long post just now for not following the "copy before submit" rule myself. :x :!: Quickly then, some advanced topic sidebars: 1. One-way doors and walls that appear behind the party are possible, but I did it using a teleporter defined in the file that Origen hasn't gotte...
