Trying to recall.. does yer crew *have* to drink the Devil's Whiskey to complete the game?

Anyone recall if there's a way to use the Antidote potion to jack yer stats? -vs just recovering from lowered stats due to having drunk the bad whiskey.

No, you don't have to drink the potion, and apparently you already discovered the bad effects of doing so.
