I don't get what's with the wraith ring. It SAYS it regenerates 6 HP (supposed to, at any rate) but it actually drains 6HP. The description dosn't say that it does anything else.
So, why have it and why is it worth 38k at the shop?

For returning to the topic of the game after those infidels had their little bash-Growler-fest
Good thing my hide is thicker than y'all's corpus callosum...grrr.
And if I weren't such a gentlema..Growler, I'd reveal the secretruth re: a certain sultry Ms. Adder & my very own hairy self!
Anyhow, Wombat's Wraith Ring is bad news if you're of the warm-bloodied living variety, but great if you're all multi-spectral (i.e., dead). Basically, theory goes...it drains from the living but enhances the dead.
Mebe it's worth so much to reward ya for finally selling that dog-gone spitefool thang!!!

The Wraith Ring is one of the cursed items in the game. And they usually don't appear cursed until you put it on. Kind of like life. The curse isn't necessarily in the ring, but it is in the words used to activate the curse, such as "I do"

Haha... I think back when bltalk was the main communication line they were asking for ideas for items in the game... I think a few ideas out there were items that were cursed... or didn't work... And that ring was the item that made it to the game after all this time.

Word on the street is that Origen can turn any ring into a Dork Ring--just by wearing it!

It lets you talk to bugs.. oh wait, you already do that.
It also get's you eaten by a giant spider in some convolted, incoherent plot, and then crapped out with additional, largely useless and unrelated powers.
my cynicism increased 10 fold, my apathy increased 20 fold, and my inline engine increased output 50 fold. Though in that case it was the stroker kit, the new six pack set up, and hemispherical combustion chambers that did the job.
