Text in other colors

Post by HGamer »

One of the undocumented things that I found is that you can put text to the right-hand scroll window in colors other than the default black. Here's the data about it, which some of you have seen before:

In text output to the right-side window, you can change the text color using the "#" character followed by a number.
#0 = black (default)
#1 = white
#2 = dark green
#3 = tan (hard to see on far right of text window)
#4 = brown or dark red?
#5 = gray (hard to see on dark edges of text window)
The color change lasts to the end of the current string, unless you apply another color change first.
The color change code itself is not shown in the text window, and appears to take up no space in the visible output.
Colors besides black and white are affected by the game's text brightness setting.

If somebody like SK knows other codes, please enlighten us!

I'll try and remember to double-check, but I think you got them all. If there are any others, they're sequential (so #6 would be next), but I don't think there are.

SK

P.S. Your analysis is correct, by the way, the color change code does not print in the output nor does it take *any* space.
