Modding the map

Post by AndreD »

For i was thinking the Town of Rennibister Map, maybe insert symbols to different points of interests like:

Money Pouch - General Stores
Mug of Ale - Taverns
Shied/Armor - Weapons & Armor Shops
Cross - Temples
Blue Potion - Elium's Energies

Also something to symbolize the Guilds, & anything else that might need icons for.

I think whoever can moddify the map gets the idea.

Personally, I don't like giving people points of interest. It is a game, and you should be exploring it. You can learn your own points of interest.

While I admit, sometimes they can be helpful, I guess I am an old-school kind of person. I remember the first time I played Bard's Tale, I didn't even look at the city map that was included.

Of course, I got the crap kicked out of me as I spent hours trying to find the equipment shoppe, and my characters had no weapons or armor, but that was part of the fun.

Given that the equipment shop was about 6 paces away, you must have really sucked on picking directions. I didn't have the map until after I made it, thanks to a chew happy black lab puppy; and it only took me a second or two to locate it.

San Angelo... What do you know? Now tell me do you have something to say? Don't get me wrong, I miss my home, and it feels like I'm a million miles away.

Yeah, I walked South instead of North. I like the road less traveled. :D

Yes, to all points you guys made on what you are saying. But they only show up after the FOW on map was explored.
