Well, at this time, I am playing through BT3. I am also noting every monster encounter, as well as taking screenshots of the pictures, in case I decide to use them in my mod.

I already have the BT1 monsters completed, so after finishing 3, I will go back and complete 2. It's a little backwards, but what can you do.

After that, maybe I will release the combat mod that I was working on.

After that, I will work on completing the BT 1-3 mods.

Origen, do you have any of these mods posted anywhere but the DW site?
For those of us who bought the DW game early on, our membership has expired and I don't see any reason to give DW any more money, when they won't even respond to email or Forum inquiries. Thanx, C

There is really nothing available, with the exception of the first mod I released, which was pretty bacis and contained some bugs. I have been working on and off on the other mods, but nothing has been close to a release.

hallo there,

just got to say the BT mod is just beautiful so far

taken me way way back to playing it on old spectrum 48k

just a quick question, am i doing something ridiculously stupidly wrong, in that i cant create the original BT type characters?

having to restrain myself from revisiting BT and concentrate on DW :!:

You are limited to the types of characters that can be created by DW.

Didn't know BT was released for the Sinclair Spectrum 48k.. cool that it was.
I played BT II on a Commodore 64 (or possibly my C-128?)

Cassette tapes.. good times..good times. ;)

ok, let's see.. if yer fighters were getting an avg of..say 10 hp per level-up, then your guys must've been around level 300 to have 3k hp.
pretty impressive. 8)

so, what's the highest level anyone here has gotten (legit) with any char?

think mid-2-upper 40's was highest my main crew reached..

iirc (and i probably dont cos it was like the mid 80s when i was playing BT on spectrum)

the max hp your fighters could get was 20

so i would repeatedly teleport to the 4 x 99 guys - build up say 5 levels of xp then go to review board and level up, saving and reloading if i didnt get say 75hp from the 5 levels

gonna have to go wiki / ebay / google spectrum BT now :D

oh, yeah--those infamous 400 (396 for the mathematically precise) Beserkers!

great way to level up.. but it was really arduous as I recall in the DW version (mod created by Origen) cuz of DW game-limits whereby group attacks only affected...maybe a dozen or so?? -anyone recall?
so it took a crap-load of long-ace rounds (even with a strong party) to smite those 396. to be fair--some of the time lag was probably related to my using a slow machine with sucky built-in/on-board graphics.

that's a nice link to the ebay Spectrum BT set for sale.. fun checking out those box/manual pix.

hey, how's your DW game going? :?

indeed :)

having a slight problem with in that i can't train my BT chars as my monk / rogue at the adventurers guild or review board.

also having a slight problem with my DW

am in say day 3, and it is crashing everytime i frisk a body, and dont take the loot

is very odd, will do a screen grab of the error report if someone more IT'y than me  can make sense of it

hey, post a new thread under Full Game / Technical Help &/or Mods -- hopefully someone will see it who can help.. I don't recall those specific problems, but then it's been a few years since I played the BT mod.

you might also send a PM (Private Message) to Origen.

aside from game bugs, it helps reduce errors if you start the game after a fresh system reboot, and with no other programs running.. turn off anti-virus, shut-down extraneous programs running in your system tray, etc.

and def make sure your Video driver is up-2-date, and also your audio driver..

hopefully you're running DW with the latest patches/Mega-mod?

seems to be working fine with the *main.exe rather than plain and simple .exe

just a quick question, where is the levelling guild for the bard, cant find it, and cant seem to hit the right search words

cheers

ps or it could be i impatient and would rather be playing DW :D

Glad the crash issue got resolved.
Yeah, need to launch game using dwMain.exe ;)

Have ye checked the Rennibister town map that comes with every install of DW? If not, look in the main game directory for DWManual-booklet.pdf (great for booklet-sized printing) or the larger format DWManual.pdf.
Tip: p7

or.. if you simply can't wait the pdf to launch, much less print..
try this:
check out the North side of the Adventurer's Hall.. near Landru's Shop, then yer very warm--if yer in front of the Mage's Guild, yer pipin' hot. 8)
