ahhhh...grrrrr!

Growler's in an unreasonably guud muud, so no harm no fowl.

Not sure I ever looked for it in Skara Bra..e since never included a Bard in me party. But if you have an old map of SB with z Bard Guild indicated, then good chance it'll be in same general location on this'un since Origen went to grate panes to replicate ole SB faithlessly--er..rather, FaithFooly.

Suggest backing up your game file Prior to going into the dungeon where the 4x99 Berserkers be--cuz after I went there, I couldn't get back out.. and my party wuz too depleted to forge ahead.

May have been a quirk/bug in my game-file, cuz not sure others had similar issue.. but just in case--backup B4 &/or go in there with a very strong crew.

Cheney may have some insider skinny re this.

cheers

hmmm it aint on the map, and i done a quick run around the city looking for a guild mark type thing on the door but no luck

and spent a fortune tipping in the inn and no clues either

iirc in the original original BT all chars just levelled at the review board

cant believe origen would do the mod, and let the monks / paladins level at the temples, and the rest in their places, and not create somewhere for the bard to.

have we an email addy that i can send origen a question? or are they still frequent around here?

it aint bugging me too much, as i am more than happy to plough on with DW :) :) :)

Cha-Ching!! Also, the only way to replenish bard songs is through drinks at the tavern. Didn't have any issues with getting back out of the dungeon, but it is always a good idea to have several backups anyways. There is one great advantage of this remake over the original. You can save anywhere you want. :)

was it just a little S.W. of the Adventurer's Guild in a sort of cull de sac?

possibly named Bard Blazon or on Bard Blazon St?

It is nice to be able to save most anywhere in the game.

Would also be nice to have multiple save slots, but ez'nuff to do by backing up yer savegame file with dif names..numbers/descriptions.

Can come in handy if you just wanna replay a certain section/fight..

If you stumble into the building across the street from the Guild, does Origen's credits roll? :P

Considering Origen's Tremendous (stupendous?) ego, I would imagine that he has his credits running in all the taverns, shoppes, guilds, pool halls, temples, tabernacles--and also pops up every 7 steps! :D

That said, he did a superb job re-creating BT within the DW realm.
So, reckon we can allow him a bit of ego. 8)

I know it is in there somewhere, but I couldn't remember where it was, so I am glad you found it. I have recreated this mod so many times, but just never had it the way I wanted to thanks to the DW limitations.

I don't remember if I added any egotistical content to the original mod, but I will admit it was there in some of the future ones that never got released. :D

You should have, that was a masterful reproduction, with a few fun additions.

side question for you dan, how did you create the inventory for imperial weapons in your bt mod?

the inventory for all the shops is stored in the items.dat file, which is based on the items_BL2D file.

You just have to add a line to the item to correspond to the shop you want it to appear at. For example:

Code: Select all

Shop: valor.dat 200
Shop: shop.dat 40
Shop: starfire.dat 100
Shop: imperial.dat 20
Shop: dwarves.dat
Shop: elves.dat
Shop: landru.dat
This is how it appears in the items file in context:

Code: Select all

#
Type: Long Blade
Name: Stoneblade
TypeID: 126
Description: Has the ability to turn your opponent into the hardest stone.
Flags: showcharges
Class: Wa Ra Pa Ba
Damage: 6d6+10
Use: Casts BAGA
Charges: 40
Location: hand
Value: 20000
Shop: imperial.dat
#
If there is a number after the name, than that is the finite number that can be sold. If not, then it is unlimited. I believe those are all the shops there. FYI, the shop.dat is the general store.

I tried something simple like this:
Type: Ammo
Name: Obsidian Arrows
TypeID: 2
Description: Wooden shafts crowned with an arrowhead of sharp polished obsidian.
Flags: showcharges
AmmoType: 1
StatEffect: +1 AT
Class: Ar Ba Bb El Mo Pa Pk Ra Ro Wa
Damage: 3d4+4
Charges: 20
Location: ammo
Value: 180
Shop: shop.dat 30
Shop: imperial.dat 30
Shop: dwarves.dat 20
Shop: elves.dat 10
CreationSkill: Mundane Item
Recipe: 1 Wood
Recipe: 1 Feather
Recipe: 1 Obsidian
Ingredient: 1 Arrow

That is a cut and paste from the items_BL2D.txt file. They still do not show up at the shop
