Rick, I also need to know how high you want to go up to, so that I can plan out the end game. Is level 30-40 enough, or do you need to get up to level 50-60+ (which may be more of a problem, not sure, I don't want to have to set up a room next to the arena).

There are four different XP tables:
rogue (bard, rogue)
warrior (barbarian, warrior, red claw)
spiritual (monk, psi-knight, paladin, ranger)
spellcaster (all caster classes)

We want to approximate the leveling speed from beta. It does not need to be exact, but just around the same pace. We can change it to suit our own idea of balance.

Just as an example,here are the charts from v2.0. Most everyone felt that these charts were a bit too slow, especially for the casters. For our purposes, level 30ish is enough for us to extrapolate the rest.

Thx for the reply. That's what I thought you wanted, just checking the details.

I'm up to level 21 and I have all the XP levels up to that point for all classes. I have confirmed the Ranger/Monk XP equivalence, which seemed to be a bit off at first but is ok. The accuracies are within 500 XP or so for most levels, not all levels were at the thousand marks.

I'll finish off up to level 35 or so and then send it over to you. I'll need another two weeks and you'll have it. If you want the first 21 levels now. pls. let me know. Thx.

p.s. I've got the XP chart up to level 24 now. Takes awhile because if you don't stop to return and level up, you can't tell when the next levelling up occurred.

On version 2.1, you could look at your character info and the level would be highlighted in green when you were ready to level up. You have to look at the individual character, not the front party screen.

You still need to go level up, otherwise you wouldn't know when the NEXT level was available. Given how quickly one can advance in this game, especially early on, it's not hard to outstrip that little feature.

I usually wait until my inventory is about half full before heading back myself. I usually have 2 or 3 levels to play with by then.

that is correct. To get the correct XP data for the next level, you need to have leveled up already to use the 'green' feature effectively for what I am trying to do.

What I was trying to say, is check after each battle. If it is green, go level up and make a note of xp. It is somewhat of a pain, but the most accurate way to find xp needed for advancement.

Updated monsters and items are complete. I just need xp chart info now. Once that is finished then it will probably be the last update ever needed for the patch. Unless there are any additional issues that we can address?

As promised to the forum, here is the UPDATED XP chart for Rick's DV v2.01b
Dragon and Rick have their own copies, including excel charts, and will incorporate them into the website and program materials as needed. All values are checked and are accurate within at most +/-1000 XP for the high levels. This format is a bit tough to read for the four categories of XP classes, so the next post below is organized in an easier reading format.
