Druids Challenge (mod in progress)

Post by KSS »

To anyone who might still be lurking hereabout:

I'm currently writing a small mod (2 maps) for DW. It's supposed to be installed over the MegaMod.

I'm a slow worker (not to mention that I have a real life too !), but it progresses steadily, despite those irritating scripts that won't run properly (it was just a small parenthesis, for damn's sake :D ).

I'm making some pictures too, despite my VERY limited graphics skills. Try not to laugh too hard when my mod is made available.

For those interested, I'll keep track of advancement here.

KSS,
That's awesome! Good to hear there's still interest and some mod-dev'ing going on..

Can you tell us what your mod is about? :P

Looking forward to your updates.

btw, have you played thru Devil Whiskey?

Hello Growler.

The mod is about a legendary coven of Druids mentioned in some text in the Arcanium. If you decide to seek them out, hopefully you'll find those nice and helpful Druids.

It's not much: a few new monsters, 2 maps to explore, and a few new items.

I've not yet completed DW: I've decided to keep my party at its current level (about 35) to test my mod. When it's completed, I'll pursue my adventures (if I'm not mistaken, the only quests remaining are the Mages Tower, Philibusters Lair and Tales of the North).

Ta,

Adding Mountain pics to the mod is certainly different than anything else that has been done here. Very nice so far.

Speaking of mountains, I've tried to restore some Wilderness border pics: here are the results...

When I looked at the Wilderness map config file, there were entries for border graphics, but it didn't work (at least with my party): I hit the invisible walls but there was nothing behind.

So I created textures and reworked the map.

Sweet! I don't know why they didn't use them, but I like the look of them.

I wonder what other things the DW left unused. I know there was an item or two that was left unused. I used one of the unused items (the holy gloves) i think they were called, in the basement mod. I'm pretty sure there was another. Maybe some more textures out there? Wouldn't be surprised. Regardless of what's there, its not too hard to create new stuff after reading through the tutorials.

You have some people like rick and bri(dragonbait) on here that can be useful for info on these things.
