Ye Shoppe

Yo.

After a time doing nothing DW-wise (busy with RL-things such as work (bleh) and kids (better)), I've worked a little on the Shoppe mini-mod.

Things seem to be working fine so far, though I have yet to choose which items will be sold, and to design and implement the shop owner's task/miniquest.

I'll keep you posted.

DW & its ilk do tend to fall into the UL cat. ;)

Update: thanks to the holidays, I've been able to work on it a little; the scripts are all but done, and all that remains really is to stock the Shoppe.

(for something tells me that a shop that sells nothing would not last long).

So it should be complete in a few days. I'll keep you posted.

Ok it's done.

Here's the link

As usual, paste the contents of the folder into your DW folder, overwriting all files; it's intended to be installed over the last version of the MegaMod.

Have fun and tell me what you think.

I tried to open it, and there is nothing in there but a file called shoppe, that has no file type to it, and nothing will open. I downloaded twice and tried Winzip and 7-zip. Winzip says that it isn't a valid archive.

I just tried the link: no problemo, the zip opens perfectly.
Try again tomorrow and we'll see.

Well,
I found where the crypt was, but cannot figure out how to get in. I found the cryptic parchment, and tried sevral variations, but nothing worked, so how about a somewhat less cryptic clue. :)

Do you remember EXACTLY the cryptic clue ? Go to the place, then do what it says...

Looking forward to playing, but gotta resolve a few things.. like managing the items file (which I've modified, etc).

Also, what level player is the Shoppe writ fur?

Wondering if my current low-level crew will work, & also if they'd have the funds to purchase any new Shoppe items? :oops:

If not, then may have to work their butts off first, then play it.

Well, it's aimed at a low-level party, except of course the financial side...

That's cool.. even if I can't buy anything yet, assume I could come back to it later & purchase? -unless it's a one-shot op? :o

Thinking I'll just backup my own modified items file & go with yours.. could always amend it later.

Well, I had to fix one of the scripts (that allowed you to do things you weren't supposed to do yet, and could cause you (i.e Chaney :) ) to get stuck underground...).

I've already fixed the link, and here is the corrected script for those who already have dl-ed the mod.

Sorry again; hopefully that's the last problem...

Thanks for digging into that. I tried a second crew on a different computer and encountered the same issue. Do I need to start again, or will this work if it is just copied over the old script?
