Realm Quest Book 2 Update.

Post by craedus stonebeard »

Since a few people have expressed interest in some of my writings - namely the Realm Quest stories - I thought I'd generate a small post to let you know my progress on Book 2. (I have enough written enough for 4 books and outlined enough for a full 10 books :)
---------------------------
Book 2 - "A New World"

I am roughly 15% of the way through proofing the story and making corrections/additions. My hope is to have the 2nd book ready within a month.

If anyone has thoughts about Book 1 please post them here so that we can keep them out of the official "game" forums. Thanks for your interest in my writings.

Soundingoot!
Any progress with the cartography? :D

(or did Vegas skew the way?)

I'd like 1st option for movie rights based on your books.
See if SSS/Admin will produce it, then get Troy to score the film, Dom to handle stunts/blow-ups, Z-man for humor & foreign tongues, Origen fer spatial effects, HGamer (if we can find him) for general/specific problematic-solving, & all others who desire fun in the sun & wish to one day have it made in the shade 8)

This just might work..

Great idea!!!!

And if you liked the first book, just wait until you read the next few books. And I guarantee that you will be amazed by the whole "Durenda plot."

The maps will be coming. I'll have them done (for both books 1 & 2) along with the finished Book 2. Right now I ha e overhead wilderness maps half finished for the Throffhorn/WoodVale area and the Ironmoore/Brighnon area (for Book 2). In the future I want to do the maps of the cities, Scared Grove of Tharn and the kingdom of Houkahtan.

I prefer catering to blowing ork pudding up. I can do more damage that way. It's how I landed a job as a Paranormal investigator and eliminator.

Catering, eh? :?

Everybody check their souffle!!!

So you landed those jobs by... 'eliminating' (via bad twinkies & sausages) those who Were working 'em? !

Now That's Origenic-devious..

(apologies 2 Craedus for allowing Dom to finagle us off thread-topic!)

Dom, git reading!
Ya can't cater if ya don't know the story..

Maybe you can make a mod based on the cities in the book.

Hmmm, never thought of that. Great idea. :)

A question though. Does a mod have to be an addition within the current full DW game? Is it an addon created seperately from the game and installed to the main game at a later date? Could I gut the current game and "redo" it if I wanted? Can I add, lets say the city of Throffhorn, to a part of the wilderness?

Sorry for all the questions but I haven't checked out the modding tools yet.

I'd love to add a new city to the game with some sub-quests and a few dungeons (in addition to the filler for the existing dungeons. I haven't forgot about that project :D )

No, it doesn't. Try out Origen's BT mod... While it (was when I last had it) was accessible from the DW world, it is actually a stand alone mod, and is meant to be as such.

I had the beginnings of a Wizardry 1 mod around somewhere, but I haven't felt like digging through discs of backup files.

I haven't yet read your story yet Craedus, sorry. You probably posted it while I was on hiatus from DW, and thus I missed it.

Thanks for the quick reply about the modding. I'll have to check out Origen's BT mod when I'm done DW.

If you decide to check out the story, let me know what you think. I always appreciate feedback on my writing.

(Irish ) Domhnall, or anyone else interested, Craedus' story is available at this link:

http://www.notheresistor.com/326.html

And hopefully more stories, books, & maps to follow soon! :D

Also hoping for some new & improved (easier2use) moddin' tools eventually. That may help with the 'MODification' of any Wizardry, BT, & Throffhorn (of the Realm Quest series) stories/locales..

Bzzz. Give the hairy yeti-thing a one way ticket to loserville.

Though at least you've got the general region right.

It's more Scottish than Irish, but what is really the difference.

At least Origen got it right but...

*guts Origen and hangs him with his own intestines*

Ah the glory of being the winner of my improptu contest. Or half winner, since no one has tried for the surname; which should be even more obvious than Domhnall.

I didn't even realize there was a contest, but now that I found out what the winner gets, I would like to withdraw my answer. :D
