Yep. Didn't you smell the BBQ?

As a bonus, it landed on top of someone. That was hilarious.

Would've been Xtra hilarious if that 'someone' had been Origen.

Then.. then we could've All smelled the B-B-Q. (continuum)

First evidence that I have no artistic skill up. :P Technically not a screen, as I was only testing one small element of the system, but you at least can see the general look I'm going for.

It'll eventually be the automap, once I get enough of the UI drawn up to put together a functioning automap. :P Thinking of adding a "wimp" mode where the journal records locations, and the coordinates are displayed constantly.

Sure Origen will appreciate the wimp mode

Speaking of journals, don't think DW has any journaling feature, does it?
Or is an automap generally considered part of journaling?

Looks like yer making progress. 8)

DW doesn't, but then again, this isn't DW.

I'll make some concessions to modern convenience. Mostly, the journal will record all the books and scrolls you can pick up, as well as any wall inscriptions. Signs and conversations, not so much.

It'll also be home to the alchemy recipes, and the encyclopedia.

Any recipes fur peanutty buttery fudgy choco-chippy kookies? :)

Are yer recipes related to crafting?
How'bout a few examples! :D

No crafting for now. Alchemy, yes. Mostly things that go boom, and a cheap bastiche way to have some buffs and healing.

Quite honestly, crafting added little but a build in cheat mode for DW to me. Especially before it was nerfed (it was nerfed...?). Level 13 characters shouldn't be doing 900 damage... especially mages.

No peanut butter cookies, but I do have a mean milkshake recipe.

Eye C, said z blind monkeyman. Soo, what's a 'buff'? Protection-related?

So how did yo lev 13 mages do 900 dam via crafting? :?

Think my level 40ish Fighters were only doing 500~600 dam with their PLS's! And, they were all sporting that +10 ST belt? Champion Stoner gizmo that sold locally fur like 13 g.p. 8)

Nerf+tag football, anyone?

The project still lives, say Grimlock. Him King though.

buffs = any magic enhancements; eg resistances, mystic armor, shields, stat boosts, immunity to Growler-breath, etc...

Things move relatively smoothly, save my utter craptastic drawling skills. Thus, no screens (until I can draw stick men with greater stick-ness). Mostly, I'm focusing in on the core mechanics, getting them down and ready to roll. I'll probably build a text-based tester prog to tweak bug fix and balance them afterwards. Later comes sound and graphics. Sound not such a problem. Graphics... Grimlock not so good.

Design wise, I've mostly transisitioned into dialogue, scripts, and such. One section, which details a quest being given, has 4 branches, and currently is sitting at three pages. Two of which end in battle glorious. Since it hinges on one of two recruitable NPCs, whether you have one or not at the time (the other joins depending on your choice). The best result ends with you having both.

Alchemy might get cut. I still haven't bothered designing it, and everything else is mostly finished (want unique spell names, not generic "fireball, fireball, fireball"). Diplomacy is done, based on combat. Except less gory.

Another scripted sequence is in a hallway. It pulls in at a page and a half. And I'm not giving the player a translation of the inscriptions; gonna make them do it by hand.

We had a minor earthquake today, and I'm getting laid off. So more time to work on this! Plus, rest for my weary hand. My hand is weary, so this mild update is done.

Immunity to Growler-breath?! HA!

Growler-breath scoffs (excellent exhale) @ yo impertinence doing 900pts nasal-leading-2-brain damage.

Otherwise, soundeth as tho things be moving along grandly with yer game.
But transliterating 1.5 pages of utter nomenclature?!?

That'll be the day.
now where's my auto-trans-hak.. :?
