Here's an interesting thing...

Post by The Wombat »

Have a look at the memberlist sorted by post count.

3 people(?) are 200+
3 people are 40-50
Everyone else (other than Admin) are in single figuires. (At least, they are as I write this.)

We seem to be stratifying into distinct types of posters.....

And another thing. Almost half the people who bothered to register then either send only one post, or none at all.

What's it all mean?

it means there are several different types, as you said.
I basically only came here to lurk and ask a post a suggestion, so that'd be the reason for my low post count.

I'm man (well, Growler) enough to admit I did quite a bit of lurking on the old forum before signing up & then gradually mustering up to post a bit...then, there's a bit of the snowball/avalance thing. With this new forum, ya can't even lurk a little w/o signing up...guess I can't blame'm.

Anyone care to do their research dissertational thingie on the psycho/socio-(il)logicality of this forum?

Although somebody mentioned that your post count doesn't go up if you post and then delete, I did notice that some people's posts can't be found. For instance, FyL is listed as having 2 posts, but I don't see them anywhere.
PMs don't appear to affect post count either, but I could be wrong.

I signed up at the old forum, and then never visited until after the game came out. Even then, it wasn't for a while that I started making a decent number of posts.

I remember seeing Fyl's post somewhere, but it may have been an optical illusion.

San Angelo... What do you know? Now tell me do you have something to say? Don't get me wrong, I miss my home, and it feels like I'm a million miles away.

AHA!

Contrary to what has been suggested elsewhere, if you delete a post, your post count does indeed reset. I.e. it goes down by one.

So, no surruptisious way to "level up". ( At least, none so far! )

You could always amuse the DW crew here by multiple postings of semi-crude Aussiexpressions... I've heard quite a few from a friend who hung out with a guy from down under--hey, hold onto yer donkeys! Not that kinda 'down under' ...geez :?
