I found this game today and wondered how in the hell I could have missed this?!
Then I see that it was released in Japan on the TurboGrafx-16 only.
It was an rpg that basically combined Pool of Radiance and Eye of the Beholder, and it's made by Westood! (HOW COOL IS THAT!!) but used D+D rules rather than AD+D rules. (I like both D+D and AD+D so it's cool either way).

Man, I would have had a blast with this one if I had known about it back in the day. The only downside I can see is that the player characters and some monsters have tall combat images rather than having combat images that fit within a 1 square like Pool of Radiance did. Playing an Eye of the Beholder style game in a Pool of Radiance combat style gameplay seems like a freaking blast! 8)
