Toolkit and Action Editor

Sweet! though i think this might be a bit over my head, as I haven't gotten it working yet.

I have Python 2.5.1 installed and I installed the wxpython that indicated was for use with python 2.5 versions (wxPython2.8-win32-unicode-2.8.6.1-py25)

Then after I had that installed, i followed the instructions of the action editor readme...

"This tool requires wxPython to run.
After installing wxPython, run it by double-clicking "actionEditor.py"."

I click on actionEditor.py

but i get an error message

do you know what this means?

It works for me. Make sure it is being opened by wxpython, by selecting the open with option. Maybe that will help.

hmmm. I tried the open with option and got 2 types of available python

python
and
pythonw

but neither work.

maybe there's another part of wxpython that I need to install besides the
(wxPython2.8-win32-unicode-2.8.6.1-py25)?

I'll have to try again later after work.

I opened it up, and it appears to be opened with my

C:\Python22\python.exe

Which is actually not wxpython, but what do I know.

it seems that I have a newer version of python.

I'll try uninstalling it and switching to python22. maybe that might work for me.

I was able to download python 2.2, but they no longer have the wxpython 22 available for download from the python site + anywhere else, + the action editor wouldn't run with just the python 2.2 alone. The farthest back I could go was to download python 2.3 and also wxpython 23, but that wouldn't work either. I noticed that within the main DW folder there is a file called python22.dll , so (maybe) the only way I'm going to get the action editor is to find wxpython 22 to accompany python 2.2. (i think). + unless i find that, it looks like I'm going to have to take a pass on the editor and continue on without.
